Get the scoop on our Attendance Booster!

Attendance (being here and on time!) is one of the best ways to ensure that your child does well in school. Studies show that kids who have regular (and again, ON TIME!) attendance have a 90% higher chance of graduating from high school than their peers who do not have regular attendance.  That is why we are committed to making sure we reach a 95% attendance rate for our students.  

But, because everything is more fun with an incentive, we have some surprises up our sleeves!  For the next 4 weeks students who arrive, and are on time, for school will have the opportunity to win individual prizes, win school-wide prizes based on whole school attendance, and more!  

We will have weekly 'Because You Are Here' random prize drawings. Students will be selected at random to spin the 'Wheel of Attendance' to win fabulous and fun stuff, and there will be 'Regular Attendance Awards' for kids who are meeting attendance goals.

All fun aside, this is a critical issue facing our schools, and we are going to rely heavily on support from parents to make sure that our WillaG kids understand how important it is to set good habits around arriving at school on time, prepared and ready to go.

As a quick reminder, here is our Bell schedule:

• 8:00 AM - Student supervision begins. (If students arrive before 8, they must wait in their car for our supervisors to arrive). At 8, students can either begin lining up to wait for the first bell, or they can go in and have breakfast! A great way to start the day!
• 8:20 - First Bell. All students can enter the building and head to class.
• 8:30 - Last Morning Bell. All students must be IN THEIR CLASSROOM at this time, or they are tardy (even if they are on school grounds).
• 3:00 - Dismissal on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
• 1:45 - Dismissal EVERY Wednesday!

We understand that absences, and even some tardies, happen. Kids are sick, or they have appointments occasionally that can't be scheduled outside of school hours. But we want everyone to strive for that 95% attendance rate.
